MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 3 Final Result Out: Reporting Starts October 2 – Documents, Rules & Stray Vacancy Details
MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 3 Final Result has been released by the Medical Counselling Committee for MBBS, BDS and other applicable UG counselling seats. Candidates who have received a seat in Round 3 can now check their final allotment status and proceed with the admission process.
According to the latest update displayed on the official MCC UG counselling portal, Round 3 reporting begins on October 2, 2026. MCC has also stated that Round 3 allotment letters would be made available by 10:00 AM on October 2. Medical Counselling Committee
This stage is extremely important because Round 3 rules are much stricter than Round 1 and Round 2. Candidates allotted a seat in Round 3 cannot simply treat it as a trial allotment and move to the Stray Vacancy Round.
MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 3: Latest Update
MCC has made the Final Allotment Result for UG Round 3 Counselling available on its official website. The official result PDF contains Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3 allotment information along with allotted quota, institute, course, category and remarks for candidates. Medical Counselling Committee
The latest MCC homepage update specifically says that reporting will commence from October 2, 2026. This is important because the previously published September 14 schedule had listed Round 3 reporting from October 1. Medical Counselling Committee

What Should You Do After Getting a Round 3 Seat?
If you have received a fresh Round 3 allotment or have been upgraded from your earlier seat, do not wait until the final reporting day.
MCC’s 2026 Information Bulletin states that after Round 3, reporting is mandatory for candidates allotted a Round 3 seat, including eligible earlier-round Float candidates whose status requires final reporting. CDNBBSR
Candidates should download the MCC allotment letter, contact the allotted college, confirm the admission timing and fee-payment procedure, arrange original documents, and physically report to the allotted institution within the notified reporting period.
MCC specifically advises candidates to contact their allotted college soon after the result because some institutions may require two to three days to complete admission formalities, and MCC states that the joining deadline cannot be extended for an individual candidate. CDNBBSR
Round 3 Is Different From Round 1 and Round 2
This is the most important part of the counselling process.
Under the MCC 2026 counselling rules, candidates are advised to make an informed decision before continuing into Round 3 because candidates cannot resign or exit a Round 3 allotted seat in the manner permitted in earlier rounds. CDNBBSR
MCC’s Information Bulletin clearly states that candidates allotted a seat in Round 3 are not permitted to resign from the Round 3 allotment. CDNBBSR
Therefore, a candidate should not assume:
“I will take the Round 3 allotment now and later leave it for a better MCC Stray Vacancy seat.”
That strategy can create serious counselling consequences.
What Happens If You Do Not Join Your Round 3 Seat?
The consequences can be significant.
MCC states that the security deposit is forfeited when a candidate allotted a seat in the second or subsequent rounds does not join the respective institution. The deposit can also be forfeited when admission is cancelled because of incorrect information or failure to produce the required documents. CDNBBSR
In addition, candidates allotted a seat in MCC Round 3 who do not report are specifically listed as not eligible for the MCC Stray Vacancy Round. CDNBBSR
So simply skipping Round 3 reporting does not automatically give a candidate another opportunity in the Stray Vacancy Round.
Can a Round 3 Candidate Participate in Stray Vacancy Round?
For most candidates who have already obtained a Round 3 allotment, the answer requires very careful attention to MCC eligibility rules.
The MCC bulletin says candidates are not eligible for the Stray Vacancy Round if they are already joined/holding a seat, or if they were allotted a seat in MCC Round 3 and did not report. MCC also shares allotted-candidate data with states after Round 3, and candidates appearing in the relevant allotted lists may be eliminated from the All India Stray Vacancy process under the counselling scheme. CDNBBSR
Candidates who remain genuinely eligible for Stray Vacancy must complete fresh registration and fresh choice filling during the Stray Vacancy window. CDNBBSR
What If You Were Upgraded in Round 3?
If you were holding a Round 2 seat and received an upgraded seat in Round 3, your counselling status changes to the new allotment.
MCC’s counselling scheme states that candidates upgraded in Round 3 do not retain a claim over their Round 2 seat. CDNBBSR
Therefore, before reporting, check the exact Round 3 allotment carefully rather than assuming your previous seat continues.
Special Case: Same College but Category or Quota Changed
Some candidates may notice that their college and course remain the same but their allotted category or quota has changed in Round 3.
The official Round 3 result contains an important note for such candidates: if the category or quota changes within the same institution and subject, the candidate must obtain the required online-generated relieving/admission documentation and complete admission against the changed category or quota. Otherwise, the allotment can be affected due to non-admission against the new category/quota. CDNBBSR
This is a detail that candidates should not ignore simply because the college name remains unchanged.
Documents Required for MCC Round 3 Reporting
MCC’s 2026 Information Bulletin specifies that candidates should carry original documents along with attested photocopies at the time of joining. CDNBBSR
- MCC Allotment Letter
- NEET UG 2026 Admit Card issued by NTA
- NEET UG Result/Rank Letter issued by NTA
- Date of Birth Certificate, if DOB is not mentioned on the matriculation certificate
- Class 10 Certificate
- Class 12/10+2 Certificate
- Class 12/10+2 Marks Sheet
- Eight passport-size photographs matching the photograph used in the application
- Valid identity proof such as Aadhaar, PAN, Driving Licence or Passport
- OCI/PIO/Foreign National documents, where applicable
- SC/ST certificate, where applicable
- OBC-NCL certificate as per Central List and prescribed format, where applicable
- EWS Certificate, where applicable
- PwD eligibility certificate from the applicable MCC Medical Assessment Board, where applicable
MCC also advises candidates to check the allotted college’s own requirements because an institution may require additional admission documents. CDNBBSR
Original Documents Are Essential
Candidates should not assume photocopies alone will be sufficient.
The official MCC bulletin states that candidates without original certificates/documents will not be allowed to take admission in the allotted Medical/Dental college. CDNBBSR
It further states that if original documents have been deposited at another college or university, merely carrying a certificate saying that those originals are deposited elsewhere is not sufficient for MCC admission. CDNBBSR
This point becomes especially important for candidates simultaneously dealing with state counselling and MCC counselling.
What If Your Certificate Is in a Regional Language?
MCC recommends that certificates issued in a regional language should be accompanied by an attested/certified English version, where required.
The bulletin notes that competent-authority certificates should generally be in English or Hindi, and some states or institutions may insist on an English version. CDNBBSR
If your name is spelled differently across documents, MCC’s FAQ advises carrying suitable proof—such as an affidavit—to establish that the records relate to the same person. CDNBBSR
College Fee and Other Charges
Getting an allotment does not mean candidates should report without first understanding the financial requirement.
MCC clearly states that information regarding fees, bonds, stipend, service conditions and related institutional requirements is provided by the respective medical colleges, and MCC does not take responsibility for individual college fee structures. CDNBBSR
This is particularly important for candidates allotted seats in Deemed Universities or higher-fee institutions.
Before travelling to the college, candidates should directly confirm the tuition fee, hostel charges, security deposit, mode of payment, bond/service obligation and any other college-specific payment requirement.
What If You Did Not Get a Seat in Round 3?
Candidates who remain unallotted may need to prepare for the MCC Online Stray Vacancy Round, provided they satisfy the eligibility conditions.
According to the official MCC schedule, Stray Vacancy registration is scheduled from October 12 to October 14, with payment available up to the notified deadline. Choice filling runs from October 12 to October 15, processing takes place on October 15–16, and the allotment result is scheduled for October 17, 2026. Reporting is scheduled from October 19 to October 26. CDNBBSR
Importantly, MCC confirms that there will be fresh registration and fresh choice filling for the Stray Vacancy Round. CDNBBSR
Round 3 Seat Allotment Covers Multiple MCC Quotas
MCC conducts UG counselling for 15% All India Quota seats, along with applicable seats in Deemed Universities, Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC and other participating central institutions according to the notified counselling scheme. CDNBBSR
The Round 3 final result itself contains multiple quota abbreviations, including All India, Open Seat, NRI and institution-specific quotas, along with MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing programmes where applicable. CDNBBSR
Candidates should therefore check not just the college name but also:
Course + Quota + Allotted Category + Round 3 Remark
before proceeding with admission.
Why Candidates Should Not Wait Until October 9
Even though the published schedule lists reporting through October 9, waiting until the last day is risky.
MCC itself warns candidates that different colleges may have different holidays and working hours and that some colleges may take two to three days to complete admission formalities. CDNBBSR
Therefore, candidates allotted a seat should contact the college immediately and begin reporting formalities as early as possible.
Round 3 Reporting Checklist
Before leaving for the allotted college, verify five things carefully:
Allotment: Confirm the correct college, course, quota and category in your Round 3 result.
Allotment Letter: Download the latest MCC-generated allotment letter.
Documents: Carry originals and the required photocopies.
Fees: Confirm tuition fees and acceptable payment mode directly with the institution.
Reporting Time: Call/check the college website for reporting hours and any institution-specific instructions.
Important Advice for Candidates Also Participating in State Counselling
Candidates who are simultaneously participating in state counselling should be especially cautious after Round 3.
MCC’s scheme provides for data sharing between the Centre and states, and the Round 3/Stray Vacancy eligibility rules are designed to prevent candidates from holding seats across systems while continuing to compete for vacant seats. CDNBBSR
Therefore, do not make decisions based only on an assumption that an MCC or state seat can later be casually surrendered.
Check the current MCC rule applicable to your exact status before taking any action.
MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 3: What Candidates Should Do Now
For candidates allotted a seat, the immediate priority is admission and reporting, not further choice experimentation.
Download the allotment letter, verify your allotted category and institution, arrange all original documents, contact the college, verify fees and report within the prescribed period.
For candidates who remain unallotted, check your Stray Vacancy eligibility now and prepare a realistic college list based on your NEET rank, previous closing ranks, remaining seats, fee budget and willingness to join.
